Summertime Bonito: Get them now or wait a year. If you grew up in Long Island you may have caught a few of these feisty animals in the summertime. Or maybe you weren’t so lucky. Either way, the Bonito are back! They make their annual appearance in our local waters during mid to late summer. Followers of the warm Gulf Stream currents, bonito bang a u-turn up near Cape Cod before heading back south for the winter. These migrating patterns make for a brief season not to be missed.
